Blessing of Pets

Thanks to everyone who attended our annual Pet Blessing, in honor of the Feast of St. Francis. Just about every breed of dog was represented, along with some feline friends who stayed in their cages watching from a distance.
One of the highlights of the service, in addition to Fr. Jerry's thoughtful reflection, was the chorus of dogs that joined in the closing song!
There were animal treats and human treats galore and the sunshine and beautiful afternoon made it a very memorable event.
A very special thank you to Jan Elbert and Laura Kennedy, our Companion Ministry Heads, for their spectacular leadership and organization. They did a wonderful job of organizing a long list of companion assistants who helped make it such a special occasion for everyone. Music was provided by Susan and Kevin Lindsey and their furry friends. Many, many thanks to one and all.
