As a branch of Companion Ministry, our mission is:

To be servants of Christ who offer our caring presence and prayerful support to community members during transitional life phases and times of illness, grief, and loss.

Our purpose is to stitch God’s love, care, and warmth into shawls for those in need of God’s loving embrace.

Prayer Shawl Ministers extend Christ’s presence and compassion into the community as they wrap others with prayer and love.

Prayer Shawls are made for:

Prayer Shawls are made with intention. With each stitch, prayers are offered for comfort, healing, peace, love, and blessing.

Completed shawls are blessed with prayer:

May God’s grace be upon this shawl…warming, comforting, enfolding and embracing.
May this mantle be a safe haven…a sacred place of security and well
        being…sustaining and embracing in good times as well as difficult ones.
May the one who receives this shawl be cradled in hope, kept in joy,
       graced with peace, and wrapped in love.

INTERESTED IN JOINING THE PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY?
Whether you knit or crochet, whether you are experienced or would like to learn, we welcome you! We enjoy fellowship and pray as we work with our yarn and needles. We meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. The first Wednesday of the month will be a gathering for those who want additional knitting time.
