VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - PLACE OF HOPE WARMING CENTER

St. John Fisher will be joining other area churches and organizations in participating in the Place of Hope Warming Center-but we need your HELP! The Place of Hope offers a warm, safe environment for those who are homeless by allowing them to have a meal and spend the night at the Baldwin Church and Center in Pontiac. Our week is Monday, February 19th through Sunday, February 25th.

We need 12 volunteers each evening to prepare and serve a meal, handle registration and distribute blankets from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM and 4 volunteers to stay overnight from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. There will be a staff person on site all night for assistance.

We also need donations of food to prepare the meals. Food cards are available in the gathering space. You may also donate blankets, sample sized toiletries and men and women’s socks, gloves, hats and underwear. If you have any questions please call Louise Borucki at 248-373-9652. Anything you can do will be greatly appreciated during these cold winter months.
