Mission:
The
Social Committee is committed to creating more opportunities for parish members to gather together and share life, laughter, love and most of
all, community with one another.
Objectives:
-
Establish a process for evaluating the
effectiveness of current Social Ministry activities. Increase
documentation of the plans and preparations surrounding the events we
coordinate.
-
Evaluate current events and try at least two new ones to increase the
involvement of all members of our community.
-
Review and incorporate the recommendations from the Parish Pastoral
Assembly Speak-Up Groups into the activities coordinated by our
Ministry.
Statement of
Resource Needs: (Time, Talent, Treasure)
Since the basis of all our social activities is people, participation is
the critical measure of success for our ministry. We are always looking
for people to get involved at a variety of levels: from organizing
current events to brainstorming new ones; from helping with setup or
cleanup at different activities to greeting those invited to join us;
from bringing a dish to share at a potluck to just plain showing up –
everyone is encouraged to get to know the other members of the community
better!
We conduct a wide range of events, including the
Welcome Back Picnic,
Family Camping weekend, the annual
Golf Outing, Mother’s Day and
Father’s Day breakfasts, Meadowbrook Estate theatre events, the
St.
Patrick's Day Potluck dinner, the
Milestone Wedding Anniversary
Celebration, and many more. Come join us!
