Parish member Robert Weber helped us realize
our vision for a new Ambo by building the beautiful lectern pictured
below. One design objective was that it fit with the ambiance of the
current sanctuary space. Our new ambo includes a place on the front for
the Gospel Book to be displayed as a reminder of the Good News that is
shared with us during our Liturgy of the Word. Also, the new Ambo has more
open space on top for the large lectionary and the Book of the Gospels. It
was difficult to open the lectionary with the previous Ambo/lectern. Best
of all, we now have the ability to lower and raise it for various heights.
This will be especially valuable when we have our children participating.
Finally the front of the Ambo was designed with a similar look of the
tower wall behind the Altar Table, again trying to keep a similar look
throughout the sanctuary.
